Diaclone: The war for Earth, Vlad-Andrei Pirvu - Author

Chapter 1 - Dia Battles V2: A new defender is born

Earth: a planet full of life, plantations, liquids, metals, and light. A planet like this doesn’t exist, at least not in the Milky Way. However, nothing beyond this is as beautiful as the Earth, even worse, some even want to take Earth for themselves. It’s the Waruders, insect-like aliens who hunger for Earth’s resources and give it all to get them, causing death and destruction in their wake. They found their way to Earth and took over the larger parts of the planet (bigger means more food, right?) To counter this, Japan developed mechs and vehicles for the Special Military Diaclone, a group located in Saint Petersburg designed to oppose the Waruders and to protect and preserve their planet from their greed and seemingly bottomless hunger. It is led by Commander Diac Quronus, with the line that they are “strong as a diamond, fast as a cyclone”.

Commander Q: This is our planet, our home! We won’t let those parasites eat it and our loved ones. You know why you are here, it is to serve your country and defend them from those aliens! It’s time to show them who they are messing with!

All soldiers: YEAH!!!!!!!!

His brother, Doctor Apex Quronus, comes to tell him of his next project: three vehicles that can combine into a super robot named Dia Battles V2. Commander Q is doubtful about this, considering that the first attempt was a complete failure that almost cost them the base and robbed his brother of his left hand.

Doctor Q: We must try again, brother, it can change the fate of the war in our favor.

Commander Q: Or change the fate of the war in their favor. Have you forgotten the loss of your hand? What, you want to lose your life next?! We have enough crap to worry about.

Doctor Q: I know, I haven’t forgotten. But winning the war is more important than we are. If we don’t change and evolve, the Waruders will eventually defeat us. Please, brother, it’s the fate of the world we are talking about. I just want to do something, something that can help our cause and drive away the Waruders.

After much persuasion, Commander Q finally agrees to let Doctor Q showcase Dia Battles V2 in the auditorium and tells him to carefully choose the pilots. Doctor Q agrees and goes to announce it to the pilots he already chose. The pilots are:

Nick, pilot of Battles01 (the central flyer), the leader of the quartet who is eager (maybe too eager) to fight the Waruders.

John, pilot of Battles02 (the jet), the “lone wolf” who would rather strike on his own than be part of the team.

Tim and Tom, pilots of Battles03 (the weaponless dual-sited tank), the twins who can never agree on anything, including who gets to pilot Battles03.

Doctor Q arrives at the lounge area to tell them the good news.

Doctor Q: Alright everyone, it will be time to showcase Dia Battles V2 in the auditorium. Please try to work together.

Nick: Of course, Doc. They won’t believe what we can do!

John: Okay, if I have to, I’ll go.

Tim: I’m gonna pilot Battles03!

Tom: You stole the words out of my mouth! I will pilot it!

Tim: No, I will pilot!

Tom: No, I will pilot!

Nick: Guys, chill down. We’ll let the coin decide. Top or bottom?

Tim: Top.

Tom: Bottom.

Nick: (flips the coin into the air, landing into his palm and revealing the top) Okay, Tim, you get to pilot Battles03.

Tim: Alright!

Tom: Ugh! Fine! I will pilot it next time.

Nick: Everyone! It’s showtime.

Thirty minutes later at the auditorium, Commander Q and his troops all sit down. The curtains rise and reveal Doctor Q on stage, presenting Dia Battles V2. The three components arrive and wait for the doctor’s order.

Doctor Q: Transform!!!

All the pilots: System Fusion!

Battles01 flies up, followed by Battles03. They connect, with Battles03’s pilot's section disconnecting and Battles01 unfurling the legs from the back section. Battles02 flies in, ejecting the cockpit section and connecting to Battles01’s back. The engines spring forth, with the Gatling guns swapped for hands. The cockpit sections of Battles02 and Battles03 combine into the Buretto Fighter. Finally, Battle01’s cockpit sinks into the chest and the head emerges, completing the transformation into the robot. The troops sit in awe while Commander Q coughs surprised the process actually worked. Doctor Q explains there are additional modes Dia Battles V2 can assume, depending on the mission, promising to show them shortly. Just as the soldiers admire it (and drool), the alarm goes off, signaling a giant Waruder attacking in Kazan. With the Commander’s (begrudging) approval, Doctor Q sends Dia Battles V2 to Kazan to repel the Waruders. En route, the pilots discuss how to defeat the giant Waruder.

Tim and Tom: We say we charge in and destroy it before it reacts to our arrival!

John: Oh sure, charge head-on without thinking. What could possibly go wrong?

Nick: A head-on assault will not only be dangerous, but it may not work. We also need to take into consideration the collateral damage that will occur.

John: Oh, we already arrived.

Nick: What?! (sigh) Fine, we’ll think of something as we fight.

John: Whatever you say, fearless leader.

In Kazan, Dia Battles V2, in its full robot mode, has to fight against the giant Waruder, who is more concerned with consuming the energy from a nearby power station. He punches it, drawing its attention and deciding to feast on the mech itself. Doctor Q reminds the pilots that the mech can assume different configurations and Nick gets the idea to use its Hopper mode to lure the Waruder away from Kazan and into a trap set up by Special Military Diaclone. Battles02 detaches from the mech, while it arranges its legs to a grasshopper-like shape, thus becoming Hopper, a mech capable of high jumps. Hopper provokes the Waruder to follow it, doing so until the Waruder gets locked into a cage with no clear escape. Rather than let itself get captured, it self-destructs, robbing the military of the chance to study it and learn about the Waruders. While they celebrate the victory and Kazan is in good condition (thankfully!), unknown to them all, they are being watched by a Waruder who proclaims he is the Waruders’ “emperor”.

Chapter 2 - Dia Battles V2: All for one, one for all

Despite their first success, the pilots’ teamwork is still something to be desired, as some are more problematic than others. Commander Q tells Doctor Q to make them work as a team, as it’s the only way for them to control Dia Battles V2, as the world is already expecting a lot from Special Military Diaclone.

Doctor Q: I know this, but nothing can be done overnight, you know. It takes time.

Commander Q: Time which we cannot afford to have or make, Doc. Dia Battles V2 was a force to be wrecking with, so we must make the pilots realize we have a world to protect.

Doctor Q: Then let me talk to the pilots, one by one. This way, I can figure out a way for them to work in harmony.

Commander Q: Please do, Doc. The world and everything in it depends on it!

The first, and frankly the only approachable one, is Nick, who is seen trying to come up with a “cool” catchphrase and pose, with minimal results. When asked about why he joined, Nick says that he thought the military was awesome, but really, he wants to protect America from the Waruders. Doctor Q does find Nick’s motive to be good, telling him to focus on it and his effort will pay off. Next is John the cool “lone wolf”.

Doctor Q: Am I disturbing you?

John: Not more than usual. What do you want?

Doctor Q: You need to be closer to your teammates because it takes teamwork to control Dia Battles V2. Do you have something against your teammates?

John: It diminishes self-worth, making me look unreliable. Teamwork is a strength and weakness, while solitude is a mystery and underestimation, allowing me to keep my enemies off-balance.

Doctor Q: Perhaps, but Dia Battles V2 still requires unity to function properly. Do keep that in mind.

John: I’ll try, that’s all I can promise.

Doctor Q: Try hard.

And now the only thing that remains is the bickering twins - Tim and Tom. They are found in the lounging area, bickering like there’s no tomorrow, so Doctor Q breaks up the argument, asking what they were arguing about. They say they were arguing, again, about who should pilot Battles03, to Doctor Q’s exasperation. He tells them they can take turns piloting, which they do agree - except for who gets to pilot for the next mission! Once again, Doctor Q uses the coin to decide, with Tim and Tom choosing the bottom and top respectively. Once the coin is flipped, it reveals the top, meaning Tom will pilot Battles03 for the next mission, to Tim’s chagrin. Back at Commander Q’s office, Doctor Q suggests throwing a party in which the pilots of Dia Battles V2 will participate and interact, hoping they will resolve their differences. Commander Q approves and, 30 minutes later in the cafeteria, the party goes on without much incident. Nick and John seem to get along perfectly while Tim and Tom argue about who can burp the loudest. All goes well… until the alarm sounds, pointing at another Waruder rampage near Moscow.

Commander: Pilots, go to your vehicles and deploy Dia Battles V2!

The Pilots: Roger!

The pilots arrive at their respective vehicles, go into the battlefield, and get ready to merge.

The Pilots: System Fusion!

As they stare at the Waruder, they try to come up with a solution, with John suggesting they fire “blank shots” to throw it into confusion, granting Dia Battles V2 the element of surprise. They try that, only for the Waruder to immediately sense the mech and nearly tackle it. After escaping, Tim and Tom suggest using the mech’s Manual mode, but Nick eventually suggests a simpler approach: fight it head-on! Since nobody else has a better idea, they agree and Dia Battles V2 pulls out its two swords to strike the Waruder. They slice out the Waruder’s tail, which angers it and prompts it to fight. Dia Battles V2 eventually wins by piercing the Waruder with one of its swords, killing it, and robbing Special Military Diaclone of the opportunity to study it alive, to Commander Q’s relief and the chagrin of Doctor Q.

Nick: Oh, yeah! I defeated the Waruder!

John: You?

Nick: Sorry, my bad! We defeated the Waruder.

Tim and Tom: Darn straight!

Doctor Q: Yes, and the chance to study it!

Commander Q: Calm down, doc, at least Moscow and its people still stand!

Doctor Q: Yeah, I guess that’s more important.

Cheer up, doc. While the Waruders remain a mystery, at least humanity will be safe knowing that a new defender exists. But he won’t be the only defender…

Chapter 3 - Big Powered GV: Is bigger better?

Since Dia Battles V2 proved a miraculous success, Commander Q asks Doctor Q about any new mechs in production. Doctor Q replies yes and talks about the new mech: Big Powered GV.

Doctor Q: It’s our biggest project yet, a mech that dwarfs Dia Battles V2! It has treads for feet, shoulder-mounted Gatling cannons, gun barrels for fingers, retractable faceplates, and hidden missile pods for maximum damage. You could say it’s a giant humanoid tank!

Commander Q: And how many pilots does it require?

Doctor Q: Big Powered GV splits into five vehicles and one Powered-Suit, so six pilots are required for this one. Unlike Dia Battles V2, only one pilot controls the mech and that’s the Powered Suit, the rest become support vehicles. The vehicles are BiPowered01 the tank, BiPowered02 the flyer, BiPowered03 the excavator that can turn into a walker and identical threaded tractors BiPowered04 and BiPowered05.

Commander Q: Oh good, that’s almost perfect. And who will pilot the behemoth?

The doctor shows the commander the list of the pilots:

Alex, the Powered Suit wearer, is a natural leader who will fight for his country’s sake

Jones, pilot of BiPowered01, who has an unusual talent for beatboxing

Tahashi, pilot of BiPowered02, who is an otaku (i. e. anime nerd)

Bongo, pilot of BiPowered03, dreams of becoming a construction worker to fix everything that was destroyed by the Waruders

Buster, pilot of BiPowered04, a trucker whose business went out thanks to the Waruders

Spike, the pilot of BiPowered05 and Buster’s cousin, hates being overlooked.

Commander Q approves of the list and tasks Doctor Q with bringing them to the Docking Area to meet the pilots. An hour later at the Docking Area, Commander Q barks at the Big Powered GV pilots for a bit, with some introductions from the pilots themselves.

Alex: I am Alex, sir! I will do my best to destroy those Waruders scum!

Jones: I am Jones, plain and simple (does pistol sounds)

Tahashi: I am Tahashi, desu. I’ll destroy the Waruders from above, Commander-sama!

Bongo: I’m Bongo, sir. If something’s broken, let me fix it.

Buster: I am Buster, sir. The Waruders will pay for ruining my job… and my truck!

Spike: I am Spike, sir. Watch me destroy them Waruders!

Commander Q: Yes! You know why you came here and you know the risks! The Waruders will go through our dead bodies to consume our planet! We will defend Earth!

The pilots: We will defend Earth!

With that said, the pilots board their respective vehicles and, with a shout of “System Fusion”, they transform. BiPowered02 lands on top of BiPowered01, its thrusters transferring to the latter and giving it the power of flight. BiPowered03 then connects to the rear of BiPowered04 and BiPowered05, transforming into legs, standing up, and ejecting BiPowered03’s cockpit. The flying BiPowered01 lands on top, the thrusters transforming into arms and opening the chest compartment for the Powered Suit to dock. The compartment then closes and does an epic head reveal, completing the transformation to Big Powered GV. Commander Q is visibly impressed by the size of the mech, hoping that’s something that will drive the Waruders back for good. And then the alarm goes off, indicating a new Waruder approaching Petersburg. Commander Q orders the giant mech to prevent the Waruder from turning the city into a wasteland, to which Alex agrees and rolls out, literally, with the vehicles from Big Powered GV following. The big mech now stands between the Waruder and the city, taking a look at it and seeing how small it is, he chooses to stomp it. Unfortunately, the Waruder proves to be able fast enough to dodge and keep the mech unable to react. Even the vehicles are unable to track its movements!

Alex: What the heck?! What am I supposed to do now?!

Jones: Dang, this fella moves like a rocket!

Tahashi: I can barely target, desu! What do we do, Alex-sama?

Alex: I’ll keep stomping while you try to shoot the damn monster! It will tire itself out, I think.

Bongo: Not very assuring, man! What chance will we have?

Alex: Just go along with it! This is the chance to prove ourselves!

But even with that said, the Waruder still gives Big Powered GV trouble to no end. The battle seems hopeless,... until Dia Battles V2 shows up and slashes the darn Waruder, causing it to explode. The mech then takes its severed tail for Doctor Q to analyze and Big Powered GV, to the pilots’ embarrassment, could not defeat the Waruder on their own.

Nick: Don’t worry, dudes! There’s also next time!

Alex: Yeah, tell the commander that! The only thing we gotta worry about is his wrath and what punishment he’ll dish us!

Nick: Huh, whatever. See you back at the base. (flies away)

Alex: Yeah, see ya. (in his mind) So bigger isn’t necessarily better. What a bust.

Chapter 4 - Big Powered GV: Together we prevail

Commander Q is unhappy about the failure of the Big Powered GV in that previous battle. Doctor Q tries to cheer him up by giving the mech some proper training so it gradually grasps its size better.

Commander Q: Should have known it would be a bad idea to send a new mech so early without proper training. Dia Battles V2 did just fine then.

Doctor Q: It’s the size we are talking about, of course, it won’t be easy to maneuver at that scale. I think it’s Alex who needs the most training since he is the only one who can pilot Big Powered GV in its full robot mode.

Commander Q: True, so call him here so I can lecture him about using his size better!

With his arm communicator, Doctor Q called Alex to come and receive training from the commander, to which he came to the office quickly. Inside, Commander Q talks to Alex about how to use Big Powered GV’s size to his advantage. Commander Q then summons the pilots and tells them to form the robot mode of Big Powered GV, which they agree with. Commander Q tells Alex to watch his step, only to inadvertently step on a MotoViper, which happens to belong to John.

Commander Q: I said watch your step, dang it!

Alex: I’m sure he won’t be too upset. It’s just a bike.

Commander Q: Say that to him! If you’re in a city, you might kill someone!

Alex: We’re almost at war with those Waruder scum. Some losses are acceptable.

Commander Q: Not sure the civilians will agree with you.

Alex: Once we’re done with the Waruders, it will be fine.

As Alex and Commander Q continue to argue about civilian safety and some ethics, the rest of Big Powered GV’s pilots offer to guide Alex to help him get better. Twenty-five minutes later, a huge mess takes over the training area; Alex sure has learned nothing from this!

Jones: Dude, do you take this seriously?

Alex: Get used to being big? Yes, I’m taking it seriously.

Bongo: You sure need to be more careful. The construction workers are gonna get pissed at this mess.

Alex: At least it can be repaired, unlike human lives.

Buster: Hey, if you wanna destroy Waruders, you have to do it with care!

Spike: That’s right because everyone depends on us protecting them from the Waruders’ hunger and greed! Lives are just as important.

Alex: Okay, alright! I’ll try to be careful, that’s all I can promise.

Jones: Try real hard, man!

An alarm goes off, interrupting the training and revealing a giant Waruder menacing Kazan. With Dia Battles V2 in maintenance, only Big Powered GV is available to deploy. Before they leave, Doctor Q tells them of an alternate robot mode for Big Powered GV, which allows them to control the mech: the Walking Fortress. With its threads for feet, Big Powered GV skates to Kazan pretty fast and right behind the giant Waruder, giving him the element of surprise. He fires at the giant, but with little effect: its back must be bullet/rocketproof! The soldiers then decide to use the Walking Fortress. The shoulder assembly rotates, putting the treads on the back. The Commando Vehicle (which is the cockpit of BiPowered01) attaches to the chest while the cockpit of BiPowered03 transforms and flies up to become the head, completing the transformation to the Walking Fortress.

Spike: We are one!

Buster: That monster won’t know what hit him!

Bongo: Together we stand!

Jones: Alone the Waruders will fall! (does trumpet noises)

Alex: Whatever, let’s do this already!

The Walking Fortress then grabs and tosses the Waruder 10 kilometers away from Kazan, angering it. It charges towards the mech, only for the mech to open some missile pods and fire all of them towards the monster, destroying it from the front. Dia Battles V2 arrives in Kazan, but he is too late, to the pilots’ chagrins.

Nick: So you took care of that Waruder?

Alex: Sure we did. Feeling jealous?

Nick: Me? Jealous? Of course not! I’m just glad we didn’t have to save your asses this time! And Commander Q won’t bark at you for failing.

Tim: Yeah, you were awesome in this…

Jones: (beeping) Walking Fortress?

Tom: That’s right! Walking Fortress! That’s a cool name.

Nick: Okay, enough drooling! Let’s just clean up and return to base before either Commander Q or Doctor Q lose their heads!

And so the pilots of Big Powered GV and Dia Battles V2 work together to clean the mess the giant mech made. Unbeknownst to all of them, the Waruder emperor watches from a mothership as they clean. What could he possibly want from them?

Chapter 5 - Big Powered GV: Jones to the Rescue!

A week later after the destruction of that giant Waruder, the pilots of Big Powered GV seem to work together more efficiently than last time, though there’s always room for improvement. Except this will be more different than any other one, for today is April Fools Day! And nobody is more excited for this day than Jones, who uses his beatboxing skills to fool people to his own amusement. Commander Q learned this the hard way when Jones made farting sounds every time he took his seat and when he barked like a dog to scare the Commander away. At Doctor Q’s lab, Jones even imitated a loudspeaker to call him into Commander Q’s office so Jones could frighten the lab mice by imitating a cat. Next, he vocalizes as a ninja, and Tahashi, the otaku he is, follows the noise only to be disappointed when he finds Jones making those ninja noises.

Tahashi: So are you a ninja, Jones-san?

Jones: Nope, I just sound like one. (does ninja sound and pose) Do you like it?

Tahashi: Well, you are good, desu. I wish I could meet a real-life ninja who’s like that title from…

Jones: That old video game where he made guest appearances in other video games full of fighters, warriors, and other ninjas?

Tahashi: Y-Yeah, that ninja, desu. He is super cool and awesome like Batman.

Jones: Well we Americans have Batman while you Japanese have that ninja.

Their conversation is immediately interrupted by Commander Q, who tells them to quit slacking and go to the training area where the other pilots are. Tahashi protests they were just conversing but is immediately silenced by Commander Q’s angry glare. As they walk, Jones tells Tahashi about the pranks he pulled on Commander Q, which almost causes Tahashi to explode in laughter, but Jones manages to keep him quiet until they reach the training area. There, Spike and Bongo discuss the architecture of the area while Buster and Alex practice boxing, until Jones and Tahashi arrive, with Jones making trumpet noises. Boarding BiPowered01, Jones begins target practicing while making noises only a tank would make. While Tahashi tells his teammates about Jones’s pranks, a small particle flies in the training area, entering Tahashi, Bongo, Spike, Alex, and Buster. Suddenly, all of them fall down unconscious and Jones, the only pilot unaffected, calls Doctor Q for help on the situation. Twenty minutes later, in the infirmary, Doctor Q talks to Jones about the pilots’ current state.

Doctor Q: It was a Waruder virus. Spores that can paralyze the nervous system and render all humans immobile.

Jones: I wasn’t infected because I was inside BiPowered01. Is there a cure for the virus, doc?

Doctor Q: There is no cure. The only way to nullify the virus is to eliminate the source of those spores, which only a few Waruders have, meaning there has to be a nearby Waruder somewhere close to the base.

Assistant: Doctor, a Waruder is approaching the base!

Jones: Wow. Speak of the devil.

Doctor Q: Jones, since the pilots will not be available, you must pilot Big Powered GV. There is one configuration that should do the job: Gaia Quaker.

Jones: (whistles) That sounds like it can do it. I’m on it!

With that said, Jones runs towards the training area, boards BiPowered03, and heads outside. With a shout of “System Fusion!”, the transformation to Gaia Quaker begins: BiPowered03 connects to the rear of BiPowered04 and BiPowered05, transforming into legs and standing up while BiPowered02 lands on top of BiPowered03, transferring its thrusters to the latter and transforming into arms, completing the transformation to Gaia Quaker! In this massive new form, Jones tries to provoke the Waruder show itself, to little avail. Then he imitates a fire truck’s siren (don’t bother asking) which is loud enough to annoy and force out the Waruder. Jones fires at it with the mech’s fingers, only to dodge every shot and spit some unidentified liquid at the cockpit, blinding it.

Jones: (in his mind) Darn, that creature is tough! Maybe…

For ten minutes, Gaia Quaker makes no move, prompting the Waruder to lounge at the mech to tear it apart. But as it touches it, the mech grabs the Waruder and transforms its hand into a thruster. The thruster then incinerates the Waruder, killing it and the spores that infected the pilots. Later in Commander Q’s office, he commends Jones for his actions and awards him a medal.

Commander Q: I am proud of you, Jones. Keep up the good work and stop fooling around!

Jones: Yes, sir!Commander Q: Good. (when he sits on his chair, Jones does farting noises) What the heck? (looks into his seat, but there is nothing there, he turns to Jones) Jones… (Jones is not here) JONES!!!!!!!!

Well, some things sure don’t change that easily! But after April Fools Day passed, Jones stopped pranking… for now.

Chapter 6 - Big Powered GV - Bongo the Builder

Possibly the only thing the people at Special Military Diaclone don’t know about Bongo is that in his heart, he is an artist. He doesn’t show it too often, because he thinks war cannot have a place for those who want to express themselves through art, be it sculptures or portraits of loved ones. Regardless, Bongo does want to contribute to the military, though he has yet to do that… until now.

After he saw Jones get his medal for destroying that spore-producing Waruder, Bongo decides it’s his turn to earn a medal with one project that could change the need for energy: a Sol Ray Tower. When he pitches it to Commander Q, he is told about how difficult it will be to defend it from hungry Waruders.

Commander Q: I think it’s a bad idea, my boy. The tower can draw energy from the sun and who will want this energy other than us? The Waruders! Until we deal with them, no risks, okay?

Bongo: But Commander…

Commander Q: Have I made myself clear? (angry stare)

Bongo: Glass clear, sir.

However, not willing to give up easily, Bongo goes to Doctor Q and tells him about his proposal. Doctor Q, knowing they need energy as much as the Waruders, agrees to help build the Sol Ray Tower, but they need help. Bongo then goes and enlists most of the pilots of Big Powered GV, who agree to help. Outside, they try to decide where to build the tower, preferably where the sun shines brighter. They eventually settle on Perm and Doctor Q tells them of Big Powered GV’s transportation mode: the Cruiser Rig Mode. With a cry of “System Change!”, the transformation begins: the cockpits of BiPowered04 and BiPowered05 go inside their trailers while they connect to each other and the Commander Vehicle. BiPowered03 connects to the rear of BiPowered04 and BiPowered05, then the rear of BiPowered01 connects to the united vehicles via a special hook. BiPowered02 lands on top of BiPowered01, its thrusters transferring to the latter and the cockpit going on top. Finally, the Powered Suit goes inside BiPowered01 for storage, completing the transformation to the Cruiser Rig Mode!

Jones: Wow! This cruiser is positively ginormous! (trumpet noises)

Tahashi: Yeah! This could easily run over even Godzilla! Or King Kong! Or…

Spike: This should seriously be our default transport mode!

Buster: Yeah, it sure will! Those Waruders…

Bongo: Can we please go to Perm and build my tower?!

Alex: That’s right! Come on now before the Waruders come for us. Either we get more energy or the Waruders will! Are you done swooning?

Jones: Yeah, we’re done drooling over the vehicle. Forge the path and lead our way, our fearless, flawless leader and his mighty builder!

Bongo: Very funny, Jones.

Alex: Real comedic, Jones.

Jones: Hey, I’m just keeping your moods up!

After the talk, the Cruiser Rig launches into the road thanks to its thrusters, speeding through the road and through a frozen lake, with no signs of slowing down. While Tahashi is amazed at the speed, Alex feels a little dizzy, possibly not used to going at that speed. In less than ten minutes, they arrived at Perm and chose a “nice place” to build the Sol Ray Tower. They find a crater and decide this will be the place to establish the tower. Bongo, in his natural element, directs his teammates as the structure of the tower is being built. Two hours later, the tower is nearly finished and they only need to place that solar-absorbing giant cube on top, so the pilots decide to use Big Powered GV in its mech to do that. With a cry of “System Fusion”, the transformation begins BiPowered02 lands on top of BiPowered01, its thrusters transferring to the latter and giving it the power of flight. The compartment then closes and does an epic head reveal, completing the transformation to Big Powered GV! The mech then places the last on top, completing the Sol Ray Tower, which will finally resolve the energy issues humanity faces! Just before Bongo can cry his eyes out, trouble arrives in the form of Waruder Grapplers, who can combine into monsters of all shapes and sizes! Big Powered GV does its best to destroy them, but their small size makes it a challenge, seemingly distracting the mech while the others go to feast on the tower.

Bongo: No, not the tower! Not my masterpiece!

Alex: There’s too many of them! Bongo, we have to destroy the tower before they feed on it!

Bongo: Destroy the tower?! But…

Alex: We have to. Either we destroy it or let the Waruders have the energy.

Knowing it’s the right thing to do, Bongo tearfully aims the guns at the tower and fires, destroying the tower and one Grappler. While Bongo mourns the loss of the tower, the others look at the Grappler’s remains, discovering a humanoid Waruder inside. Are they trying to copy the mechs? Are they trying to fight mechs with mechs? Who knows?

Chapter 7 - Dia Battles V2 - Twin Problems

The Battles03 doesn’t require two people to pilot it, though someone thought making twins drive it would be a good idea. It’s not, with Tim and Tom being the worst offenders. They constantly argue with one another like who gets to pilot Battles03, but Nick came up with the solution of letting the coin decide, which has reduced the issue somewhat. That still doesn’t stop the twins from arguing about other things, like who gets the last cup of hot chocolate (it’s cold in Russia, after all) or who should do the chores. They do care for each other, but they never admit it. One day, while another giant Waruder is trying to feast on Kazan, in the Boretto Fighter, the twins try to decide which way to fly, to John’s annoyance.

Tim: I say we go left!

Tom: No! I say we go right! The Waruder won’t see it coming!

Tim: Ha! Then you think going left won’t be as effective? Let’s go left!

Tom: No! Let’s go right!

John: (sigh) And I say we go above it!

Taking the lead reluctantly, John pilots the Bullet Fighter above the Waruder, distracting it long enough for Dia Battles V2 to fire its guns at it, destroying the Waruder before it reacts. While Commander Q is impressed by Dia Battles V2 for its victory, he criticizes Tim and Tom for their indecisiveness, threatening to either court-martial them or have them clean toilets for four to six months. The twins, terrified, promise to resolve their differences… eventually. Unimpressed, Commander Q tells them to give it serious thought or else. Alone, the twins try to argue, but are aware of the consequences, remain quiet and go their separate ways, leaving the matter of who will own Battles03 another time. In the training area, Tim talks to Nick about his sibling problems, hoping to make up with his brother before the next mission, if possible.

Nick: You’re siblings, right? I’m sure you’ll be able to resolve your differences when the time is right. Be patient.

Tim: But I can’t wait that long! Why do things always take time?!

Doctor Q: Because that’s how things are. Rushing can and will cause mistakes.

Tim: Doctor Q?!

Doctor Q: I and Commander Q always clashed, especially when it came to science and war. He initially wanted to cancel Dia Battles V2 because of a failed experiment years ago, until I convinced him to give the mech a chance. And that’s how it came to be.

Tim: So I just have to wait for the right moment?

Doctor Q: Affirmative.

Tim: Okay, I’ll try, that’s all I can promise.

While Tim discusses with them, Tom and John are seen in a corner, talking about his brother and what he should do. John, at first uninterested, simply tells Tom to just wait patiently. Tom then accuses John of his lack of cooperation and lonely attitude, for which John fires back by saying it is Tom’s stubbornness that keeps him and Tim apart. Tom doesn’t look too happy to hear that but doesn’t punch him, knowing he speaks the truth. Tim, hearing Tom and John’s discussion, goes to them to finally settle his and his brother’s differences.

Tim: Tom…

Tom: Tim…

Tim and Tom: I’m sorry!

John: Well, this is awkward. Very awkward.

Doctor Q: John, please don’t ruin the moment. (the alarm sounds)

John: I think it’s already ruined.

According to Commander Q, Waruder Grapplers roam the city of Izhevsk, sending its people into a panic. Doctor Q decides to send only Tim and Tom with a configuration of Dia Battles V2: the Glide Mech. With Tim piloting Battles02 and Tom piloting Battles03, they roll out to Izhevsk to stop the Grapplers! Arriving there in thirty minutes, with a shout of “System Fusion!”, the transformation begins: Battles02 attaches to the rear of Battles03 while its cockpit shifts to the top of the jet. The rear swings down to form the legs and the engines become arms with Gatling guns for hands, completing the transformation to the Glide Mech! With its flight capabilities, the mech shoots at the Grapplers until they regroup and combine into some monstrosity, but the twins aren’t scared of that. Together, they shoot at the combiner ports, forcing the combined monster to disengage and start swarming the mech. The Glide Mech flies up in the sky with the Grapplers and turns off its booster to fall back while shooting at them, destroying most of them. After the mech lands safely, the remaining Grapplers try to flee, but the mech shoots them all until only one of them escapes into space. The twins make amends with each other, promising to stop arguing about who gets to pilot Battles03, though they continue to argue about who shot the most Grapplers. The Waruder inside the Grappler is last seen departing into space, ranting about its failure (sore loser much?).

Chapter 8 - Powered Suits: The Brave Four

While the bigger mechs may be cool and useful against the Waruders, bigger isn’t always better. In Magadan, a group of native two soldiers and two miners ride in Powered Suits, similar to the one used by Big Powered GV but with different front sections and purposes. These are A and B types, for combat purposes, and C and D, for extracting resources. The soldiers are:

Nikolai, wearer of Powered Suit A, who is willing to protect the innocent

Viktor, wearer of Powered Suit B, who is quiet but deadly

Dimitri, wearer of Powered Suit C, is a rough and tough miner who values power and size over other things

Vadel, wearer of Powered Suit D, a miner, mechanic, and medic who is more concerned with saving lives than mining work, Dimitri's chagrin.

While out mining at a cave with Nikolai and Viktor guarding the entrance, Dimitri and Vadel discuss the awesomeness of Big Powered GV.

Dimitri: Oh man, Big Powered GV is grand, is it not? I wish to pilot a mech and stomp Waruders!

Vadel: Yes, it is big indeed, though it only matters if you know how to use it responsibly. If I had this kind of power, I would mostly use it to protect and heal people.

Dimitri: Again with your boring “I want to help people” crap. Power is how we would be able to crash Waruders and drive them away!

Vadel: And what about the people who are in danger because of the Waruders. Special Military Diaclone may exist to destroy Waruders, but it doesn’t mean we can just turn away from our people, who may need our help.

Dimitri: Whatever! If the people were a little more durable, we wouldn’t need to hold back on destroying Waruders.

The two miners continue to argue, leading nowhere. Nikolai, meanwhile, talks about yesterday’s boxing match he saw on TV, with Viktor maintaining his silence. Thirty minutes later, Dimitri and Vadel emerge from the mine with a few minerals, loading them on a trailer and driving back to the warehouse. There, Nikolai expresses disappointment about their “boring” tasks while other soldiers get to fight the Waruders. Even Vodel’s explanation doesn’t satisfy Nikolai in the least! Dimitri agrees that they rarely see action in Magadan and also wants to get a piece of the Waruders, to Vadel’s chagrin. As the three continue to bicker, Viktor, for the first time, breaks up the fight, telling them that they have to protect and serve Russia in its fight to drive away the Waruders. Their desire to fight them will only be their downfall, as their mechs won’t have the firepower or muscle to repel the Waruders. Nikolai reluctantly confirms it is true, while Dimitri storms out of the warehouse to throw rocks at the sea. Outside, Dimitri picks the biggest rock he can find and hurls it into the sea, unwittingly hitting a Grappler that was underwater. It rises to the surface and Dimitri sees it, causing him to run back to the warehouse to suit up and engage the Waruder. When Vadel sees him in his Powered Suit C, he questions him but is told he is going to take out “a very unwanted guest” and points at the Waruder Grappler.

Vadel: Are you crazy?! We have to notify Commander Q…

Dimitri: No, you don’t! Besides, it’s just one Grappler, I should have the power to take it out.

Vadel: But Dimitri… (he’s already gone) You dumb idiot! (he goes and tells Nikolai and Viktor about Dimitri’s reckless action)

Nikolai: Well, we better back him up then. If Commander Q yells at us, let it be.

Vadel: Seriously?!

Viktor: It’s just one Waruder Grappler. How bad can it get?

Vadel: (sigh) Fine, I’ll suit up too!

The trio then bursts out of the warehouse, armed to the teeth. They rush to Dimitri’s aide, where he holds his own remarkably well against the Grappler, who can do little to pin him down. Dimitri eventually punches a hole in the Grappler’s chest, pulling out the humanoid Waruder and pinning it to the ground. When he tries to get information out of the Waruder, the only thing he gets is “Warudroid”, possibly the name for the humanoid Waruders.

Dimitri: What do you want from our planet, scum?

Warudroid: (speaks in alien gibberish)

Dimitri: Well, if you cannot speak our language and I cannot understand you… (hurls the Warudroid into the sea)... then be gone!

Vadel: (the trio ran towards him) You must be the craziest worker I’ve ever worked with!

Dimitri: Well, when crazy works, it works, right?

Nikolai: I didn’t know our mech suits had this kind of power. What if we can upgrade it to the next level?

Dimitri: Well, we better tell the commander that.

Vadel: But he’ll yell at us for not notifying him about Grappler!

Nikolai: Well, can it! Whether you like it or not, we must rely on ourselves from now on!

And so, the quartet agreed to defend Magadan from the Waruders, whether Commander Q would like it or not. What shall await them in the future?

Chapter 9 - Dirtloader: Treading Shots

When Commander Q catches the wind of the quartet’s defeat of a single Waruder Grappler, he chews them out at first, telling them if they want to fight, they should have called for “upgrades”. Nikolai asks what he means and Commander Q shows them the latest vehicle to go with their Powered Suits: the Dirtloader, a two-seater double-barreled tank. He boldly claims with this attached to the Powered Suits, the Waruders will give humanity no more troubles and headaches.

Dimitri: So we’re finally gonna crack Waruders? Thank Mother Russia!

Commander Q: Not so fast, hothead. First, you need to know how to use the unit. Then you can start destroying Waruders.

Dimitri: Huh? Yeah, sure, I’ll wait.

Nikolai: Will this vehicle help us?

Commander Q: Why don’t you give it a test drive and convince yourself?

A panel opens inside the Dirtloader, revealing a seat. Nikolai sits inside the tank and turns it on, going at a ridiculously high speed for a tank. He then aims and shoots the cannons at some training dummies, with considerable damage to the area. At Commander Q’s order, he disembarks the tank to wear the Powered Suit A and with a cry of “System Fusion!”, the combination begins: the Dirtloader breaks apart, its treads attaching to the feet of Powered Suit A, the turret with cannons attaches to the back and the piece that connected the treads and turret becomes a gun, completing the combination between Powered Suit A and the Dirtloader! With increased mobility and more armament, Nikolai easily makes a mess of the training dummies and the bullseyes. Dimitri feels jealous, Vadel feels concerned and Viktor feels… nothing, while Commander Q expresses at the fact that the Waruders may no longer menace humanity like they did back in the day… until the alarm is heard alerting approaching Waruder Grapplers flying to the training area, much to Commander Q’s chagrin.

Commander Q: Incoming Waruder Grapplers! Arm yourselves! Nikolai, reload and come to the battlefield to test the Powered Suit with Dirtloader!

Nikolai: Roger!

Dimitri: I’m not gonna lose to some upgrade.

Vadel: Be careful everyone!

Dimitri: Aren’t we always careful?

The Waruder Grapplers and the piloted Powered Suits fight each other fiercely until the humans get fatigued and it leaves more Grapplers to deal with. Just when they seem to lose, Nikolai takes to the battlefield guns blazing and noise, reducing the Grapplers considerably. One of them, claiming his name is Waruzar, threatens to trash humanity and consume its resources, causing Nikolai to fire all his guns and cannons at him, destroying him and leaving him in a critical condition. Before he dies, he imparts a message from the Waruders’ Emperor:

Waruzar: We Waruders only live for one purpose: to consume all energy and life forces and nothing will stand in our way. Waruders superior, life forms inferior. (dies from injuries)

Nikolai: Waruders have an Emperor?

Vadel: They are nothing but aliens with bottomless stomachs?!

Commander Q: Whatever they are, they must be stopped, no matter the cost.

Nikolai: Agreed. They have an army, but we have the technology to fight them. We’ll continue to change, grow and evolve!

Chapter 10 - Gyroseptor: Fly, Viktor, fly!

From his hidden evil lair on some unknown planet, the Waruder Emperor expresses frustration at his army’s slow decline in bringing more energy to feed on as well as the humans’ evolving technology. He talks to Warukar, brother of the deceased Waruzer, telling him that if humans are evolving, so must the Waruders, with the creation of the Grapplers as a counterpoint to the mech’s human pilot. Warukar takes off with his Grappler suit to lead his army and promises to avenge his brother, while the Emperor curses humanity for trying to deny the Waruders food.

Meanwhile, in Magadan, Doctor Q arrives with another vehicle to upgrade the Powered Suits: the Gyroseptor.

Dimitri: Alright! Let me try it, so I can rain on those Waruder scumbags!

Doctor Q: No, don’t be reckless! This flyer isn’t just to destroy Waruders, you know. This can give your Powered Suits the power to fly.

Viktor: To fly. I want to try it.

Dimitri: No, I was first, so I should be the one piloting this.

Doctor Q: Okay, Viktor, you can try it.

Dimitri: Seriously?! (facepalms when Doctor Q nods)

Boarding it, Viktor turns on the propellers, initially hovering until moving and gaining altitude to true flying. According to Nikolai, Viktor prefers the sky over the ground, as it makes him feel “free”. Only there does he feel true happiness, unbound to the “boring” ground. Vadel does express concern about Viktor’s attachment to the sky, Doctor Q assures him that Viktor returns safely regardless of his desires. Far away from the area, Waruder Grapplers await Warukar’s signal to attack the pilots, waiting a bit impatiently. Warukar finally gives the signal, causing the Grapplers to combine into yet another monstrosity, Warukar included. The alarm at the training area goes off, signaling the presence of a Waruder Abominating Grappler, Doctor Q’s worry and Dimitri’s relief.

Vadel: What could they possibly want from us now?!

Dimitri: Who cares? It’s not our job to question Waruders’ morality or their intentions. All we have to do is either destroy them or drive them away. It’s what we do, so let’s roll!

Vadel: I know that. Just can’t believe this is happening so suddenly.

Doctor Q: Viktor, you got air superiority. Keep the Waruder Abominating Grappler busy until I can send reinforcements!

Viktor: Understood, I have enough ammunition and armament to accomplish that. Viktor out.

While Vadel, Nikolai, and Dimitri suit up, Viktor must keep the Waruder monster busy long enough until they can arrive. With missile pods and guns blazing, he manages to destroy the monster’s front, revealing Warukar, who explains his desire to avenge his brother’s death by “some disgusting annoying organics”, promoting Viktor to fire back, claiming it’s the Waruders who need to stop, as humans only fight to protect their world. Warukar, unempathetic at the humans’ efforts, promises to wipe out all humanity so that nothing gets in the way of the Waruders. Hearing the conversation, Dimitri furiously charges in, destroying what remains of the monster and forcing Warukar to flee in a Worm-Pod, saying it’s far from over. Minutes later, Viktor tells Doctor Q what he heard from Warukar and he assures Viktor that they’re doing their best to stop the Waruders no matter how hungry they are and that their ingenuity will outweigh their desires.

Chapter 11 - Battle Buffalo: Off with his head!

In response to Kazan being targeted by Waruders twice, Commander Q decides to prevent it a third time by allocating three of St. Petersburg’s best pilots to Kazan and giving them Doctor Q’s latest Diaclone mech: Battle Buffalo consisting of Strike Header (the “flying cockpit”), Strike Blaster (the plane) and Strike Wrecker (a flat-bed truck). On the commander’s behalf, Doctor Q meets the pilots at a hangar who present themselves:

Alexander, the pilot of Strike Wrecker, is a level-headed and capable driver who’s more comfortable on the ground

Karl, pilot of Strike Blaster, is a Russian Air Force pilot who’s better off in the sky than being “anchored” to the ground

However, Doctor Q notices the third pilot is missing, with Alexander claiming the pilot, Ivan, is absent due to gaming all night. When asked which game he was playing, Alexander said “Red Saint Moscow 5”, about three protagonists surviving the perils of the government and Russian mafia.

Doctor Q: How long will he be asleep?

Alexander: He played that game for ten hours, so I’d say at least four more hours.

Doctor Q: How can someone like him be one of the best pilots from Petersburg?!

Karl: Beats us. He must be some kind of prodigy to have come so far despite his gaming antics. Does the mech require the head unit to function?

Doctor Q: Not really. When transformed, both pilots will control the mech through two cockpits on the mech’s chest.

Alexander: Wait, the mech has cockpits on its chest?

Doctor Q: Yes. Why?

Karl: (giggles)

Doctor Q: What? Answer me, pilot!

Alexander: The mech has breasts! (laughs out loud)

Alexander and Karl can’t stop laughing at the fact Battle Buffalo has “breasts”, to Doctor Q’s exasperation. They eventually stop laughing and express eagerness to test drive the vehicles and the giant robot, but Doctor Q tells them to go and wake Ivan to use Strike Header, but the two already board the vehicles without thinking. Not wanting to waste any more time, Doctor Q gives Karl the okay sign to go first. He demonstrates great maneuverability with Strike Blaster, including shooting down some of the target dummies with ease. Then it’s Alexander’s turn, who demonstrates good driving skills in maneuvering Strike Wrecker, even when loaded with six Powered Suit containers. Doctor Q is impressed at the pilots’ capabilities, though he wishes he could say the same for the absent Ivan. Still, Alexander assures him he’ll come… eventually. However, the alarm sounds off, pointing at a Waruder approaching Kazan. Knowing he can’t wait for Ivan to come, Doctor Q orders Alexander and Karl to board their vehicles and combine into the headless Battle Buffalo. With a cry of “System Fusion!”, the transformation begins: the back of Strike Wrecker transforms into legs while Strike Blaster lands on top, where the cockpits shift to left and right, respectively. The right cockpit then shifts up to line with the other cockpit, completing the transformation to… Headless Buffalo! With its two rifles, the mech makes short work of the Waruder, who doesn’t even put up a fight! Happy that Kazan is safe again, Doctor Q congratulates Alexander and Ivan for it, until…

Ivan: So, did I miss something?

Doctor Q: Are you kidding me?!

Alexander: Welcome back, Sleeping Beauty.

Chapter 12 - Battle Buffalo: Ivan the Headache

In the world of Moscow, a retired robber lives a life of luxury with a beautiful wife and daughters. Unfortunately, the fact that he was forced to retire doesn’t sit well with him at all. A young thief tries his best to earn work fair and square, but in a city filled with mafia, that’s easier said than done. He always wonders what will kill him first: the mafia or poverty. A violent man works a big business despite his temperament while mourning the loss of a friend. He also has a tendency to lash out, though that has yet to land him in prison. When fate has them brought together, they must confront the government and must remain on the mafia’s good side until they no longer have to. It’s a dangerous city in which they can’t trust anybody else, least of all, each other. This is “Red Saint Moscow 5”, where betrayal, peril, and death go hand in hand. Do you have what it takes to survive?

Between his military duties and eating, Ivan takes many opportunities to play the game “Red Saint Moscow 5” through his handheld gamepad at any opportunity he gets. One day when he had more work than he should, Ivan decides to pull an all-nighter gaming to catch up, claiming the game is more important than being in the military. Because he played that game all night long, he overslept at the pilots’ gathering and Doctor Q’s arrival with Battle Buffalo, three vehicles that combine into a giant robot. After Alexander and Karl dealt with the Waruder in their “Headless” Buffalo, the noise was enough to wake Ivan, who went to the hangar to see what was going on (in his pajamas!), to Doctor Q’s surprise.

Doctor Q: Finally woke up?

Ivan: (yawn) Yeah, thanks to your noise. What the heck happened?

Doctor Q: Before I tell you that, could you dress in something appropriate, please?

Ivan: Oh, right! Be right back. (thirty minutes later) So, now will you tell me the news?

Doctor Q: (sigh) I came here delivering the mech you will pilot, Battle Buffalo.

Ivan: Cool, so it’s like a giant buffalo?

Doctor Q: No, it’s a giant robot. There, take a look for yourself.

Ivan: Huh, the robot has a fishbowl for a head.

Doctor Q: Well, maybe. But it has guns, can fly, and function as a satellite!

As they continue to talk, Ivan decides to try out Strike Header as a test drive. When he is inside, he says he feels like a hamster, to Doctor Q’s chagrin. He flies and shoots some dummies, claiming it feels like those 2D flying shooters, again to Doctor Q’s chagrin. Alexander and Karl both laugh at the “bickering” between Ivan and Doctor Q. When Strike Header turns into a mech, Ivan makes good use of it and destroys at least 40 more dummies, claiming it feels like the multiplayer game with mecha, again frustrating Doctor Q.

Doctor Q: Can’t you take the training seriously?!

Ivan: Why?

Doctor Q: Why?! To face the Waruders, of course! To protect our planet and our loved ones! Actually, why did you even join the cause in the first place?!

Ivan: Of course I want to protect my country. And because being in the military is no different than being in a video game playing soldiers and conquering.

Doctor Q: A video game? Really? Life isn’t just a video game, you know. Because in reality, when you die, you die for good. Can you handle that? Can you snap out of your video game fantasy?!

Doctor Q was unable to finish scolding Ivan when the alarm went off, pointing at another, bigger Waruder approaching Kazan. Reluctantly, he orders the pilots to board their respective vehicles, Ivan included and form Battle Buffalo. With a shout of “System Fusion”, the transformation begins: the back of Strike Wrecker transforms into legs while Strike Blaster lands on top, where the cockpits shift left and right, respectively. The right cockpit then shifts up to line with the other cockpit while Strike Header folds up its arms, and legs and lands on top, becoming the head and completing the transformation to the full Battle Buffalo! He fires his hip missiles at the Waruder, to little effect. Then he fires the head cannons, which seemed to aggravate the Waruder quite a bit, causing it to charge at the mech. With its wheel feet, Battle Buffalo charges at the Waruder, grabs it, and flings up into space, to parts unknown.

Ivan: I did it!

Alexander: We did it, you moron.

Karl: That’s right, you may be the head, but you won’t get all the credit!

Ivan: Yeah, but it was my cannons that provoked the Waruder and caused its own downfall!

Alexander: If it wasn’t for our combined strength, we wouldn’t have hurled the Waruder into space to only God-knows-where!

Ivan: Whatever, I’m still awesome.

Karl: You would be awesome if you’d stop playing that f-ing game!

Doctor Q: (sigh) Things are sure gonna get interesting around here.

Chapter 13 - Battle Buffalo: Battle of the Moon

On the moon, the Emperor is displeased that their efforts to pillage the Earth of its energy are thwarted by humans “in metal suits”. Warukar suggests they challenge the humans to combat with the Earth’s energy as the prize, which the Emperor approves.

The Emperor: Do you really have what it takes to fight those metal humans after they defeat you? You should be lucky you didn’t suffer your brother’s unfortunate fate.

Warukar: Please, my lord, stop speaking ill of my brother. What I may lack in strength I make with intellect and the ability to survive lethal encounters. Give me this chance and I’ll mop the Moon with their ugly forms and constructions.

The Emperor: (sigh) Very well, but shall you fail to destroy the humans, you shall not bother to show your face to the Waruders or me, ever again.

Warukar: I promise I won’t fail you, my lord!

Out of the Emperor’s room, Warukar visits the grave of his deceased brother, Waruzar, promising to kill the humans once and for all, no matter the cost. He then remembers his fight with Dimitri:

Dimitri furiously charges in, destroying what remains of the monster and forcing Warukar to flee in a Worm-Pod, saying it’s far from over.

Determined to destroy the humans, he goes to a communications tower to make the humans come to him for “the galaxy’s biggest fight”. Meanwhile, on Earth, Ivan is once again chewed out by Doctor Q for being late, with Alexander and Karl watching. They are all interrupted by the computer receiving a transmission from the moon.

Warukar: Humans! You have delayed us for too long! It’s time it ends. If you have the courage, meet me on the moon with your strongest mech and fight me to the bitter end. If I win, your Earth’s energy will be mine. If you win, you will never see me again. I’ll be waiting. (transmission ends)

Ivan: Huh, so now he’s challenging us? He practically wrote his own defeat! Let’s go, maties!

Doctor Q: Don’t be rash, Ivan! It could be a trap.

Alexander: Well, we can’t ignore the chance of having the Waruders off of our world. I know we can win. We just have to try.

Karl: Yeah, it’s clobbering time!

Doctor Q: Wait! (already gone) (sigh) (in his mind) I know Big Powered GV isn’t available and Dia Battles V2 is somewhere else. Fine, guess the fate of Earth is in the hands of Battle Buffalo.

Using Strike Header and Strike Blaster to get into space (Strike Wrecker needs a hyper catapult to get to the moon), the pilots are discussing if they really stand a chance against the Waruder, but eventually cool down when they realize the power of teamwork will be more than enough. On the moon and with a shout of “System Fusion”, the transformation begins: the back of Strike Wrecker transforms into legs while Strike Blaster lands on top, where the cockpits shift to left and right, respectively. The right cockpit then shifts up to line with the other cockpit while Strike Header folds up its arms, legs and lands on top, becoming the head and completing the transformation to the full Battle Buffalo! On the Moon’s surface, they see Warukar in a giant suit that makes him a head taller than the mech, to the pilots’ shock. Warukar laughs since he can sense the humans’ fears leaking out of the suits. The pilots are unfazed.

Warukar: At long last, today is the end of everything, filthy humans! Face to face, gun to claw! You might wanna write your death wishes.

Ivan: Today isn’t gonna be anyone’s funeral, but your defeat, evil monster! One shall stand!

Warukar: One shall fall! Charge!

Battle Buffalo and Warukar charge at each other and are both blown away. Warukar attempts to use his tentacles to restrain the mech, but it breaks free and punches the Waruder away in one of the craters. Then the battle turns into a Whack-Em-All, with Battle Buffalo using its fists to smash the Waruder, to no avail. Warukar eventually flies out of the crater and summons most of the Waruder Grapplers to merge with him and make a ginormous Waruder the size of the Kremlin’s tower! The pilots don’t give up yet: by yelling “System Change”, the mech transforms into Mega Striker and shoots missiles, fire, and bullets at the Waruder, obliterating it and revealing Warukar amongst all wreckage. It grabs the defeated Warudroid to talk.

Ivan: You better stop consuming our planet and leave for some other galaxy!

Warukar: I only follow the will of the Emperor, I can’t order the Waruders to stop. I was only trying to avenge my brother, who died because of you!

Alexander: Then tell your “emperor” to stop the invasion or suffer our combined might!

Warukar: The Emperor will never bow down to the likes of you!

Battle Buffalo then tosses Warukar across the galaxy and away from the Milky Way Galaxy. The pilots know that no matter what happens next, the Waruders will never feast on their planet! Now the only thing they must worry about is Commander Q’s wrath.

Chapter 14 - The time the Doctor goes Cuckoo

Since graduating, Doctor Q has been a very busy scientist, from designing the Diaclone mech to helping out the pilots. He clearly works hard, as no pilot rarely shows incompetence or inability to serve the military, with a few hiccups along the way. However, some pilots do stuff without knowledge, but no scolding from either him or his commanding brother so far! I’d hate to imagine what would happen to the pilots if Doctor Q were to become unavailable. Wait…

At Diaclone HQ in Saint Petersburg, Doctor Q analyzes the pilots’ health (because even soldiers aren’t safe from colds or diseases).

Doctor Q: Looks like you’re all healthy, amazingly enough. Don’t forget your exercises and healthy meals!

Nick: Sure thing, doctor!

John: Yeah, whatever.

Tim: Healthy meals? Over my dead tongue!

Doctor Q: Eating healthy won’t kill you, you know? Other pilots did get sick from a virus by the Waruders, so you have to remain healthy enough to repel it.

Tom: Except Jones didn’t get sick. Is he really that healthy compared to us?

Doctor Q: Oh yes he is! He even exercises a lot and…

Doctor Q is unable to finish his sentence when some big jar falls from a tall drawer into his head, rendering him unconscious. Panicked, the pilots do their best to wake him up, but when he does, he acts like an idiot. John thinks it’s a form of amnesia, a state where the patient loses his/her memories temporarily. Just when Tom suggests they hit him again, Doctor Q is already missing.

Tim: What the heck?! If Commander Q hears of what happened, we’re in serious trouble!

Nick: Let’s all calm down and try to locate the doctor before the commander does. Where could he possibly go? I’ll call Alex to help us. Let’s go!

John: (sigh) If only the Waruders were the cause…

Searching every corridor, room, and lab, the pilots are not very successful, even more so by the thought of how furious Commander Q will be. Even Alex’s team doesn’t do any better. Tahashi suggests they simply tell the commander the truth, which Nick immediately rejects, claiming they can and will locate the doctor on their own and prove how useful they are.

Nick: We will find the doctor. We have teamwork on our side.

Alex: I feel you, man. The commander may be the boss, but our teamwork is just as valuable. We’ll find him.

Jones: Hey, I think I found him. He is at the cafeteria.

Bongo: The cafeteria?! We are so gonna be screwed.

The pilots race at the cafeteria and find Doctor Q “playing” with his food, to the confusion of the entire staff. The pilots try to seize the doctor, but he dodges them and runs towards the door they entered, to their shock. Commander Q enters the cafeteria with the doctor in his grasp, again to the pilots’ shock. When being told the doctor suffers amnesia, he bonks his head with his fist, bringing Doctor Q back to his senses.

Doctor Q: What happened?

Nick: I don’t believe you need to know.

Commander Q: So how was the pilots’ examination, doctor?

The pilots: (in their minds) That’s it, here comes trouble.

Chapter 15 - Powered Maneuvers: Beta and Alpha

Commander Q looks at the stashes and realizes the base is running low on supplies. Since the last supply transport was only four weeks ago, he contacts Japan’s Diaclone branch about renewing but is told they can’t send more supplies due to the Waruders always ambushing and stealing the packages.

Commander Q: Ugh, damn those aliens! First, they want our energy and now they go after our food?! We gotta find a way to protect the supplies while transporting our goods. Doctor, can we send two of our pilots to protect the transport?

Doctor Q: We could send Jones and Tahashi in brand new Powered Suits: Alpha and Beta.

Commander Q: Do they work?

Doctor Q: They are already testing the suits in the training area. Let’s check it, so you can convince yourself.

Jones: (at the training area) Blade Slash! (slashes dummy) Heck yeah!

Tahashi: Desu, desu, desu! (drilled holes on the floor) Drill Hole! Yeah!

Commander Q: So, do you like our new machines?

Jones: Do we like them? We love them! Especially their interchangeable hands!

Tahashi: That’s right, Commander-sama. With them, the Waruders will have nothing on us, desu.

Doctor Q: That’s good because you’ll be protecting a supply convoy coming our way. The Waruders may try to feed on energy, but our food will not be part of their menu!

Jones: You got that right, Doc. When do we roll out?

Commander Q: You’ll fly to Japan on Gyroseptors right now.

Tahashi: Can I visit my home in Tokyo for a break, Commander-sama?

Commander Q: Absolutely not! (angry stare)

Tahashi: Okay, desu.

(30 minutes later)

Jones: Here we go! Sayonara, Commander-sama, I hope you will be well, and may all Gods be watching over you and your brother.

Commander Q: Acting up before leaving the base?!

And so, Jones and Tahashi leave Diaclone HQ in Russia to the Japanese branch, to Tahashi’s great pleasure (and disappointment that he can’t attend a convention taking place in Tokyo due to orders). On the way there, Jones practices martial arts while sounding like a badly dubbed Jackie Chan/Bruce Lee, to Tahashi’s and the staff’s amusement. Three hours later, they arrive at the docks, looking for the truck that they must protect, eventually realizing they must wait another three hours for the supply convoy to be prepared, to Jones’s and Tahashi’s chagrin. After having some lunch and sightseeing, Jones sees the supply convoy is finally ready to go by sea and dirt back to Russia, to Tahashi’s relief (and disappointment that he has to leave his home once again). At the commander’s order, the supply convoy rolls into the freight and goes into the sea, beginning the journey back to Diaclone HQ!

Jones: Man, I thought I’d be stuck to the docks for eternity!

Tahashi: And I can’t believe I had to miss that convention because of the mission, desu! Now I’ll never know the latest news about new seasons or new anime.

Jones: You can always consult the Internet for that kind of news.

Tahashi: Don’t spoil my missed attendance at the convention, okay? (the alarm sounds)

Jones: I think it’s already spoiled.

As predicted, six Waruder Grapplers loom over the freight, looking for the supply convoy. Jones and Tahashi immediately rushed over to the Powered Containers to Alpha and Beta to crush the threat! With cannons as hands, Alpha wounds two Waruder Grapplers and destroys one, while Beta drills another Grappler. As if that wasn’t bad enough, six more Grapplers appear after the convoy, forcing Jones and Tahashi to think about a good strategy.

Jones: Tahashi, grab and throw me at one of the Grapplers.

Tahashi: Say what, Jones-san?

Jones: Throw me at one of the Grapplers! I’ll slash and blast as many of them as possible!

Tahashi: Okay, just don’t play the main hero, desu.

Like he was told, Beta uses its claws to throw Alpha into one of the Grapplers, destroying most of them, though Grapplers keep coming, to Jones and Tahashi’s irritation. Just when all hope seems lost and the supplies about to be taken, a Gyroseptor-equipped Powered Suit swoops in and slashes eight Grapplers and equips Alpha with two lancers. Together, Alpha and the Powered Suit destroy most of the Grapplers, forcing the remaining one to flee, hollering some kind of gibberish at them. Arriving at Magadan, Jones asks who the pilot of that flying Powered Suit is, who reveals himself as Viktor.

Jones: So we’ll be stationed here for a while?

Nikolai: Yes, you will, until the land convoy is ready to take the supplies and you two back to St. Petersburg.

Tahashi: And what do we do when the Waruders show up, desu?

Dimitri: We destroy them, duh! But don’t worry, you’ll learn to fly soon.

Jones: Fly?

Tahashi: Nani?

Chapter 16 - Powered Maneuvers: Gamma and the Sky Jacket

Since they’ll be stuck defending the supplies in Magadan from the Waruders, both Jones and Tahashi are peeved beyond comprehension. Nikolai tries in vain to make these two see the light to their predicament while Dimitri has little empathy for them (jerk). Jones then starts singing blues with Tahashi joining in, singing for two hours straight, to Vadel’s exasperation.

Dimitri: You guys bust the baddest blues this side of the country. Wake up, already!

Jones: Easy for you to say. This is your home while ours is far away.

Nikolai: Before we bicker any further, one of you must stay up all night to keep watch of the supply.

Jones: Sure it’s not gonna be me since I’ll die… of extreme boredom!

Tahashi: And how will either of us fight the Waruders in the dark, desu?

Nikolai shows Jones and Tahashi the latest Powered Maneuver Gamma, built specifically for night combat. It can additionally combine with Sky Jacket to give it the power flight and equip it with two swords and guns. Tahashi volunteers to wear the suit and watch out for the Waruders, since he is proficient with a sword after watching a video game ninja. Dimitri continues to doubt Tahashi, mainly out of jealousy because he can’t destroy the Waruders personally, but is reminded by Vadel that protecting the supplies isn’t their responsibility. By contrast, Nikolai shows faith in Tahashi, even if he doesn’t get his reference to that “video game ninja”, mistaking it for anime. Viktor offers to teach Tahashi how to fly, which he accepts and passes after at least fifty tries (first try, people!). Tonight, after Jones wishes him good luck, Tahashi is all alone, watching the supplies and the stars at the same time. Just when he was about to fall asleep, he saw some lights in the sky, mistaking them for falling stars. But as they approach, it becomes clear it’s the Waruder Grapplers!

Tahashi: Wake up, desu! They’re here!

Dimitri: Perfect. But it’ll take time to suit up, so please hold the line until we arrive. (transmission ends)

Tahashi: Nani?! Guess I gotta suit up too, desu. (boards and activates Gamma) Luckily, I can fly, desu. System Fusion!

After launching his forearms at the Grapplers, Gamma connects to the bottom of Sky Jacket. The jet gives him new shoulder pads with guns, new forearms, leg extensions with thrusters and wings with swords. What remains of the Sky Jacket detaches, upgrading Gamma into Sky Gamma! Flying into the sky, Tahashi shoots down and slices most Grapplers in an epic night battle, though he runs out of ammunition as Grapplers keep coming. Even his shield eventually breaks down from the Grapplers’ energy tailwhips!

Tahashi: (in his mind) Oh no, there’s too many of them, even for me. But I have to keep fighting, for honor, for my friends (out of his mind) For manga culture!

Just when Tahashi is about to die with honor, the Brave Four show up in their Gamma and Sky Jacket combo suit and take down the remainder of the Waruders, again leaving one of them to flee.

Dimitri: Where would you be without us, fool?

Tahashi: In paradise, full of…

Dimitri: Never mind, come, you still have a delivery to make before the commander blows up.

Vadel: And you really need to rest before you leave or your body will not last the long trip.

Tahashi: And what about Jones, desu?

Nikolai: He is fine, sleeping like a baby. Let’s go already.

And so, the Brave Four help Tahashi back to the ground and rip out the hatch like a tin can to let him out of the suit. After a good rest which lasts ten hours, Tahashi wakes up and is ready to finish the supply run! With the supplies on board and the trucks fueled up, it’s time to roll out. On the road, Jones and Tahashi reminisce about Megadan and how glad they’ll be back at the base. But unfortunately and unsurprisingly, the Waruder Grapplers show up to take the supplies. This time, Jones is already in his Gamma suit, blasting at the Grapplers while whacking them with his shield. Even without Tahashi (who’s still tired from that night’s battle), Jones takes out a good number of them… until his gun runs out of ammunition. Just as he was about to go out heroically, the Big Powered GV, piloted by Alex, unleashes all of its missiles on the Grapplers, destroying all of them and leaving no survivors! They all return to the base, with Commander Q and Doctor Q waiting there to greet them.

Commander Q: Congratulations, soldiers. What do you want as a reward?

Tahashi: I want…

Commander Q: No anime conventions, Tahashi. You’re a soldier with an image to maintain.

Jones: Then how about a movie night?

Alex: Now that sounds like a good idea.

Doctor Q: Then let’s go see a movie.

Most of the crew, except the commander, enjoyed a movie at the auditorium, except it’s all Russian. So much for a reward.

Chapter 17 - Waruder Rising: The Invasion Day

Because of the humans and their mechs, the Waruders are getting weaker and weaker with each defeat by them. The Emperor is also getting angrier and angrier with each defeat, almost wishing he could just destroy the planet, which would wipe out humanity. But alas, their energy is too great to be lost, so until the Emperor can figure out a way to kill the humans without losing energy, their hunger will be far from resolved.

The Emperor: Damn those humans! They waste energy for their own selfish ends. They shall pay! And die screaming! Yes, die screaming! Warudroids! (Warudroids come in) All of you will board your Grapplers, go to Earth, combine, and destroy those who stand in our way. Including those brave humans in their mechs. Go! (Warudroids leave) Prepare yourself for humanity. Brace yourself! (80s evil loud laughing).

At Diaclone HQ in Russia, the pilots are all relaxing, almost without a care in the world. Jones once again pranks Commander Q, leading him to get scolded, Bongo does blueprints (maybe another crazy building), Tim and Tom play a racing game (with Tom losing) and Tahashi reads some… inappropriate comic books. Nick is seen on a DiaPad, looking into an album app about the experiences he had while fighting off Waruders, like their first, successful battle against one:

Next, Nick remembers the time Tim and Tom bickered again about who pilots Battles03:

They constantly argue with one another like who gets to pilot Battles03, but Nick came up with the solution of letting the coin decide, which has reduced the issue somewhat. That still doesn’t stop the twins from arguing about other things, like who gets the last cup of hot chocolate (it’s cold in Russia, after all) or who should do the chores. But with John’s “help”, they make up and take down a Waruder together… though continue to bicker outside of combat and training.

Jones then chimes in and talks about what he did during April Fools Day:

Nobody is more excited for this April Fools Day than Jones, who uses his beatboxing skills to fool people to his own amusement. Commander Q learned this the hard way when Jones made farting sounds every time he took his seat and when he barked like a dog to scare the Commander away. But when a virus-carrying Waruder paralyzes his teammates with its spores, Jones eliminates the threat with Gaia Quaker, saving the pilots in the process. He then continues his pranking spree until the end of the day.

Bongo also joins in with the story of the time he built the Sol Ray Tower, but is interrupted by the alarm, which points at hordes of Waruder Grappler descending from the sky, combining into a big abomination that threatens the base. Commander Q orders Dia Battles V2 to fight the monster, while Big Powered GV will be on standby, which the pilots comply with. With a shout of “System Fusion!”, the transformation begins: Battles01 flies up, followed by Battles03. Finally, Battle01’s cockpit sinks into the chest and the head emerges, completing the transformation into Dia Battles V2! With its swords, Dia Battles V2’s slashes surprisingly deal no damage to the monster, instead grabbing and tossing the mech into the distance. Up next is Big Powered GV and its conversion: BiPowered02 lands on top of BiPowered01, its thrusters transferring to the latter and giving it the power of flight. The compartment then closes and does an epic head reveal, completing the transformation to Big Powered GV! Unfortunately, the mech is only half the size of the Waruder abomination! Nevertheless, the mech fires its rockets and bullets at the monster, which similarly don’t do much. Just as Dia Battles V2 rises and joins Big Powered GV, Warukar (the Warudroid who got his butt handed to him by Battle Buffalo) looks on from a distance. Whatever his intentions may be, the fate of the world now rests on the shoulders of the mechs.

Chapter 18 - Diaclone Trinity Finale: the Emperor’s Day of Reckoning

As the Waruder abomination looms over the two mechs, Dia Battles V2 and Big Powered GV again shoot their weaponry at it, again to no avail. As the pilots are running out of options and the abomination is about to attack the base, vehicles start showing up and blasting the abomination, with little success - these are the components of Battle Buffalo! With a cry of “System Fusion”, the transformation begins: the back of Strike Wrecker transforms into legs while Strike Blaster lands on top, where the cockpits shift to left and right, respectively. The right cockpit then shifts up to line with the other cockpit while Strike Header folds up its arms, and legs and lands on top, becoming the head and completing the transformation to Battle Buffalo!

Ivan: Are we late?

Nick: Not quite. Wouldn’t be surprised if you didn’t show up at all.

Alex: But we are glad you did. Otherwise, I would have haunted you for a long gaming life.

Alexander: Whatever, we get it. So this is the monster.

Karl: It’s more like a dentist’s nightmare or a blue Mary Poppins.

Ivan: Let’s look for a weak spot around the monster and focus our firepower on it.

John: It’s not a video game, idiot.

Ivan: You never know. Let’s do it unless you have a better idea.

John: (sigh) Fine, let’s do it. I have nothing to lose.

The mechs go all over the abomination to spot the weakness, while avoiding getting smacked by its tentacles. They do eventually find a small hole in a… very naughty place to be mentioned. With Dia Battles V2 and Big Powered GV keeping it busy, Battle Buffalo uses one rifle, loads it, and fires it at the hole, destroying the abomination from within. But before they can celebrate, another abomination shows, seemingly bigger than the last one, while broadcasting an image of the Emperor, who’s inside the monster

The Emperor: You have done well, humans. But I will pliage your Earth of energy!

Commander Q: You won’t have it! Just leave us alone and it will be over with, no drama.

The Emperor: Are you threatening me, human?

Commander Q: Of course, you alien freak! I’m just giving you the easy way out.

The Emperor: And I refuse. Prepare to die!

Commander Q: Your funeral. Dia Battles V2, Big Powered GV, and Battle Buffalo, destroy that freak.

The pilot: Yes, sir!

The pilots then reminisce about their time together and how strong they are.

Nick from Dia Battles V2:

When asked about why he joined, Nick says that he thought the military was awesome, but really, he wants to protect America from the Waruders.

Bongo from Big Powered GV:

Bongo planned to create a Sol Ray Tower so they have more power, but it’s rejected by Commander Q. Unwilling to give up easily, Bongo enlists most of the pilots of Big Powered GV for the project who agree to help. Unfortunately, when Grapplers attempt to feast on the tower and Big Powered GV can’t stop them, Bongo tearfully aims the guns at the tower and fires, destroying the tower. However, he decides to design after the Waruders are defeated.

The pilots of Battle Buffalo, on the other hand, have nothing better for themselves, since they are pretty flawless… except Ivan, who’s a gaming addict who kinda sort of does his part, sometimes. Either way, back to the story.

With their resolve stronger than before, the pilots of Big Powered GV, Dia Battles V2, and Battle Buffalo give it their all to fight the abomination, while Warukar watches from afar, somewhat apathetic about the outcome. Then he thinks about the Emperor and his current situation:

The Emperor: Do you really have what it takes to fight those metal humans after they defeat you? You should be lucky you didn’t suffer your brother’s unfortunate fate.

While not liking his brother’s name being mocked, Warukar could beg the Emperor for a chance at revenge.

Warukar: Give me this chance and I’ll mop the Moon with its ugly forms and constructions.

The Emperor: (sigh) Very well, but shall you fail to destroy the humans, you shall not bother to show your face to the Waruders or me, ever again.

Unfortunately, even Warukar couldn’t defeat the might of Battle Buffalo. After being thrown away by the mech into a faraway asteroid, Warukar mourns his loss, not just his chance at revenge but his place amongst the Waruders. After somehow managing to arrive on Earth unscathed, Warukar watches over the humans and their culture for a while. While he can’t forgive the humans for killing his brother, he at least acknowledges they are a better race than the Waruders, who only care about feeding.

Back to the present, Warukar watches the fight between the Emperor-controlled abomination and the three Diaclone mechs. It doesn’t go well, so Warukar decides to help, if it means he can claim Earth for himself rather than his race.

Warukar: (in his mind) One of their mechs did defeat me, after all. The least I can do is help end this fight and this planet will be mine!

Battle Buffalo gets smacked into the ground by the abomination, long enough for Warukar to arrive and tell the mech about the weak spot, which is the red tail. If it’s shot, the abomination will be paralyzed long enough for the three mechs to tear it down. When asked why, Warukar claims it was to settle the debt. With this knowledge, Battle Buffalo tells Big Powered GV to shoot the tail. Complaining, the tail is obliterated by the mech’s rockets, allowing all three mechs to tear the monster down, with the Emperor inside. The Emperor is now at the mercy of the humans he sought to kill.

Ivan: Game over, freak!

The Emperor: Even if you kill me now, the Waruders will keep rising until this planet of yours is destroyed!

Nick: Ugh, some fools just can’t learn.

Alex: Which makes it our job to beat the crap out of them. Let’s just throw him out in space, so we won’t see him or the Waruders ever again.

Spike: That’s right! Let’s be done with him already.

The Emperor: You can’t stop the Waruders. Kill one of us, and more will take its place.

Nick: Farewell. And hope we don’t see each other again! (Dia Battles V2 tosses the Emperor into space)

The Emperor: You’ll regret you did not destroy filthy humans! I will, someday, have my revenge!

Karl: Not likely! (turns to the pilots) So what now?

Nick: We go back to base, receive the medal, and relax. Plain and simple.

Buster: What about the Waruders? They may still be out there.

Alex: We wait until they return. As long as they exist, so will Diaclone, we exist to protect and serve.

Nick: True, the space may be vast, but together, we are strong as a diamond, fast as a cyclone!

The pilots: We are… DI-A-CLONNNNNE!

Chapter 1 - A petty argument 2035 - the year of the future. Technology has advanced beyond human imagination, giving birth to robots that can have human emotions and advanced drones that are controlled by humans and robots. Robots now coexist with humans in harmony...for the most part. They are not that different as most are good, and most are bad. There were many attempts to overthrow this uneasy peace, with only a few of them being prevented. And here we are in London, where we find one robot and one human arguing for some reason. Human: I hate you, you bloody toaster! Robot: Correction, I hate you more, meat bag! >_< Human: I hate you 10 times more, a piece of rubbish! Robot: Correction, I hate you 20 times more, moron! :p Human: I hate you 50 times more, you son of a glitch! Robot: Correction, I hate you 100 times more, dumbass >_< Human: I hate you forever, useless junk! Robot: Agreed, sentiment is mutual. >_< They aren’t the only ones who argue, as there were si...

Chapter 1 - The Fall of Micro Terra If things like the Waruders exist, it means humanity may not be alone in this universe. In fact, there was life on most planets that exist outside of the Milky Way… until they were deprived of their resources by these nefarious Waruders, leaving empty husks in their wake. Led by the Emperor whose name strikes fear into the hearts of every planet, the Waruders were unstoppable in their pursuit for food and dominance in the universe. Nobody was safe from them, nobody, not even infants. One of the planets, Micro Terra, a futuristic version of Earth (so small, it only has one city), apparently tried to negotiate their planet’s safety to the Emperor, in particular their top scientist, Arthurius Pharoid. Arthurius: Your excellency, please spare our planet and we will help you find a better offering, a bigger planet, whatever you want. The Emperor: Hmm, your offer does sound tempting. But I refuse! My scouts already found me worlds to get rid of their energ...
